After Hours

DATE: Saturday, June 10
TIME: 10:00PM
VENUE: Gateway Theater Fort Lauderdale

In Martin Scorsese’s darkly comic Kafkaesque tale, NY yuppie Griffin Dunne’s search for a “nice girl” turns into the wildest, weirdest, and most haunting night of his life. Venture with us into the bohemian wonderland of surreal menace in the cult classic AFTER HOURS on Saturday, June 10 at 10pm at the Classic Gateway Theater.

The nightmarish comedy about a series of misadventures on a night in Soho is one of Martin Scorsese’s singular gems of the 80s. Desperate to escape his mind-numbing routine, uptown Manhattan office worker Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) ventures downtown for a hookup with a mystery woman (Rosanna Arquette). So begins his adventure in the desolate night world as he falls into one surreal escapade after another as he desperately tries to make his way uptown. Played out in the streets, lofts, clubs, and bars, he encounters an eclectic cast of wackos including Cheech & Chong, neighborhood vigilante Catherine O’Hara, and S&M-loving sculptor Linda Fiorentino, all of whom thwart his attempts to get home. Strap in!
