Behold BLOODY BRIDGET, cult indie filmmaker Richard Elfman’s (FORBIDDEN ZONE) delightfully campy horror tale is an expression of wild, balls-out absurdity and comes with a new score by brother/legendary composer Danny Elfman. But be warned, this movie is certifiably insane, a joyously bloody feast for the eyes with practical special effects that enliven every gory set piece to a breathtaking fever pitch. The story begins when a Haitian voodoo deity transforms a burlesque dancer into a “Valentine vampire.” Unfortunately or fortunately, blood only whets her appetite – for she must eat her victims’ beating hearts! Goofy, gonzo, and gag-filled in all the right ways, BLOODY BRIDGET resurrects the splattery spirit of Herschell Gordon Lewis with its sincere charm and heartfelt antics – prominently including the kind that is wrenched bloodily from a bad man’s chest and devoured.
