Written by master of horror Stephen King, directed by Brian De Palma, and anchored by Oscar-nominated performances from Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie alongside a cast that includes Amy Irving, John Travolta, Nancy Allen, and P.J. Soles, CARRIE remains the ultimate revenge fantasy and one of the all-time great horror classics. Carrie White is a trembling, wide-eyed outsider enduring the true stuff of teenage nightmares, but her humiliation has consequences. As she channels her pain into terrifying telekinetic power, De Palma’s operatic style and split-screen bravura build to a prom night finale so iconic it transformed a symbol of youthful joy into a blazing hellscape of vengeance. Five decades later, its shocks still land, its emotion still cuts, and its fury still burns.
