Ghoulies

DATE: Friday, July 5
TIME: 10:00PM
VENUE: Gateway Theater Fort Lauderdale

A black magic power-party from the depths of heck! Take a creepy old Hollywood mansion, a naïve young man, and a pretty girl. Add an over-the-top orgy and some slimy, winged goblins who crawl out of toilets, and you have GHOULIES, a horrifying and hilarious ride into the darkest regions of hell celebrating its 40th anniversary! Conjured during a party thrown by the mansion’s new owner, the hairy, fanged demons waste no time wreaking havoc on the scene — and declaring the unsuspecting owner their new lord and master!

Easily the most delightful “li’l beasties” movie that isn’t named GREMLINS or CRITTERS, GHOULIES feels like an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons campaign that was crashed by breakdancing goons, haunted clowns, and monsters who live in toilets. In other words, this movie should be watched by anyone who wants to live life to the fullest. Produced by Charles Band (RE-ANIMATOR) and featuring glooped-out special effects by the late John Carl Buechler (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4), GHOULIES also stars Jack Nance from ERASERHEAD as a wizard who shoots lightning bolts out of his eyes.
