In 2019, writer-director Caleb Phillips stunned Popcorn Frights audiences with his Scariest Short Film Award winner OTHER SIDE OF THE BOX. Now, he returns with his gripping feature debut, IMPOSTERS, a nerve-tearing psychological nightmare that swaps jump scares for relentless suspense and emotional devastation. Led by a powerhouse Jessica Rothe (HAPPY DEATH DAY), Phillips proves his command of horror extends far beyond the box.

Nothing in IMPOSTERS is quite what it seems. Hoping for a fresh start, Paul (Charlie Barnett), his wife Marie (Jessica Rothe), and their infant son relocate to a quiet small town. But beneath the idyllic surface, their marriage is already unraveling. When their baby mysteriously vanishes during his birthday party, Marie refuses to accept the impossible and give up hope. Against all odds, she finds a way to bring him back, but as relief gives way to unease, Paul becomes convinced that the child who returned isn’t really their son.

What begins with echoes of changeling folklore, and this year’s liminal horror sensation BACKROOMS quickly twists into something wholly unexpected. IMPOSTERS pulls the rug out from under the audience, delivering a deeply unsettling mystery where every revelation reframes the truth and every emotional wound cuts deeper than the last. Equal parts supernatural nightmare and devastating relationship drama, IMPOSTERS keeps tightening the screws until its unforgettable final moments.
