Life at Sandy's

DATE: Friday, August 7
TIME: Video On Demand
VENUE: Digital Screening Room

This hauntingly original psychological horror tale transforms the cozy comfort of a classic sitcom into a mesmerizing nightmare. After the death of her mother, Evelyn finds herself isolated in a small Norwegian town, cut off from her old life and struggling under the thumb of her overbearing aunt. Desperate for escape, she becomes obsessed with an American sitcom centered around Sandy’s, a charming neighborhood coffee shop.

But soon, the characters begin speaking directly to her. Sandy welcomes her with open arms. Vincent and Jen treat her like family. Inside their perfectly lit world, every problem has a happy ending—and Evelyn finally feels like she belongs. As fantasy and reality blur, Evelyn must choose between confronting her painful life or surrendering to a picture-perfect illusion that may never let her go.

Darkly funny, deeply unsettling, and chillingly inventive, LIFE AT SANDY’S is a twisted descent into grief, loneliness, and the seductive danger of living inside the glow of a laugh track.
