Making Megaforce

DATE: Friday, August 15
TIME: Video On Demand
VENUE: Digital Screening Room

This laugh-out-loud, gear-grinding, wildly entertaining and unexpectedly heartfelt ride through the world of cult cinema and the fans who keep its engine running centers on one of the most spectacular cinematic misfires of the 1980s—and the superfans who never stopped believing in it.

Starring cult icon Barry Bostwick (THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW), MEGAFORCE (1982) was an over-the-top explosion of spandex jumpsuits, laser-blasting dune buggies, and gloriously cheesy dialogue — a high-octane fantasy that crashed and burned at the box office. But for one man, it was perfect.

Enter Bob Lindenmayer, the world’s biggest MEGAFORCE fan and proud owner of a fleet of screen-accurate vehicles from the film. Bob sets out to tell the definitive story of this misunderstood masterpiece, interviewing cast, crew, and fellow devotees in a loving tribute to the movie that defined his childhood.

What begins as a playful behind-the-scenes documentary takes an unexpected turn when Bob meets his hero, Barry Bostwick. Their connection sparks a new chapter in the film—one that celebrates not just a forgotten cult classic, but the enduring power of passion, friendship, and the joy of embracing what you love, no matter how weird it may seem.
