Not since Jeff Goldblum in David Cronenberg’s The Fly has a fly played such a pivotal role on screen as in MANDIBLES, the latest surreal comedy from cult French director Quentin Dupieux’s (Rubber). As fans have come to expect from his instantly recognizable signature style, Dupieux pits man against whatever crazy thing he wants to toss into the mix: a tire, a steak, a suede coat, a horror movie scream, or, in the case of Mandibles, a giant fly that becomes a cuddly household pet for two bona fide losers who decide to train it to make a ton of fast cash.
