Maximum Ovedrive

This Friday the 13th, we’re giving Jason the night off and letting the legendary Stephen King takeover!

From the delirious imagination of Stephen King comes a high-octane cult classic that proves horror can be as gleefully unhinged as it is terrifying. Equal parts apocalyptic nightmare and midnight-movie mayhem, MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE is King at his most gloriously excessive.

Written and directed by King himself, the film unleashes chaos when the mysterious Rhea-M comet passes Earth, triggering a bizarre cosmic phenomenon that brings every machine on the planet to murderous life. At the isolated Dixie Boy truck stop, a ragtag group of survivors—including a drifter played by Emilio Estevez—find themselves trapped and under siege by a convoy of relentless 18-wheelers, soda machines, arcade cabinets, and lawnmowers with a taste for blood.

What follows is a pedal-to-the-metal battle between man and machine, packed with explosive set pieces, outrageous kills, and pure rock-and-roll energy. Fueled by a thunderous AC/DC soundtrack and driven by King’s wicked sense of humor, MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE is a gloriously over-the-top spectacle—where big rigs growl, engines roar, and the end of the world arrives on eighteen wheels.

Buckle up. The machines are in control.
