The Mother, the Menacer, and Me

DATE: Sunday, August 10
TIME: Video On Demand
VENUE: Digital Screening Room

Featuring an all-star ensemble cast—including Lorraine Bracco (GOODFELLAS), Leah Remini (OLD SCHOOL), James Austin Kerr (NCIS), and Christine Spang (SUCCESSION)—this wickedly funny, blood-splattered ode to chasing your dreams follows Eddie, a struggling telemarketer stuck selling presidential bobbleheads, who refuses to give up on his ambition to become the next great horror filmmaker. With a second baby on the way, zero dollars in the bank, and no choice but to move in with his judgmental mother-in-law and her washed-up hockey player son, his life is a full-blown nightmare. But he’s not giving up—not yet.

Armed with a camcorder, blind ambition, and his sinister imaginary sidekick The Menacer (a masked, cloaked menace with a flair for the dramatic), he sets out to finish “Killing Karens”—his dark comedy about a vigilante who takes out entitled suburban tyrants. To bring his blood-soaked vision to life, he sells off his beloved vintage Dracula posters, pawns the family van, and casts whoever he can find.
