Natural Born Killers

Just before Pulp Fiction would make him a household name, Quentin Tarantino wrote the blood-spattered story that inspired Oliver Stone’s hyper-stylized and gloriously brutal NATURAL BORN KILLERS starring Woody Harrelson & Juliette Lewis as a young couple united by their desire for each other and their love of violence. Your sanity will be on the line as we embark on an exceptionally gory spree on Friday, May 26 at 10pm at the Classic Gateway Theater in this super-rare big-screen experience.

Oliver Stone pulled out all the stops with this grisly gonzo road movie about a couple of psychotic thrill killers, Mickey & Mallory (Woody Harrelson & Juliette Lewis), traveling across America and leaving a trail of bodies as they go, with Robert Downey Jr.’s buzzard-like tabloid journalist dutifully recording their atrocities for an audience of ghoulish couch potatoes and granting the couple celebrity status. Frenetic editing, jarring stylistic shifts, a psychedelic palette, and a dense soundtrack co-produced by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor all combine to make NATURAL BORN KILLERS a delirious, nauseating vision of the modern media-saturated hellscape.
