Expanding his acclaimed short film that premiered at Popcorn Frights into a wildly demented feature debut, writer-director Russell Goldman delivers a razor-sharp descent into paranoia, addiction, and the terrifying cost of living in the age of surveillance capitalism.

Fresh off being fired and newly sober, Julia (Britt Lower) retreats to a suburban rental owned by her sister (Anna Baryshnikov), determined to rebuild her life one day at a time. But when her compulsive online shopping is interrupted by a stream of mysterious deliveries she never ordered—a blender, a corkscrew, even her exact shade of lipstick—the convenience of modern consumerism curdles into something far more sinister. As each package becomes increasingly intimate and impossible to explain, Julia is drawn into an escalating nightmare where every click, purchase, and personal detail feels weaponized against her.

With the reluctant help of an exasperated sponsor (Rhea Seehorn) and an empathetic delivery driver (David Dastmalchian), Julia races to uncover the identity of the anonymous sender before paranoia consumes what’s left of her grip on reality. Produced by and co-starring Jamie Lee Curtis, and adapted from Goldman’s 2023 Black List-selected screenplay, SENDER is a stylish, darkly surreal, and wickedly unpredictable psychological thriller that skewers our obsession with convenience while exposing the unsettling consequences of surrendering our lives to algorithms that know us better than we know ourselves.
