Popcorn Frights is going out with a bang—and a body-splitting, flesh-melting, mind-warping scream—with the Closing Night Premiere of Max Minghella’s jaw-dropping shocker, SHELL! Starring Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson, and Elizabeth Berkley like you’ve never seen them before, this deliriously twisted film is the ultimate last hurrah after 11 nights of cinematic mayhem.

A wildly unhinged fusion of THE SUBSTANCE and peak Cronenbergian body horror, SHELL will have you howling with laughter, squirming in your seat, and cheering through the carnage. Prepare for beauty treatments and a glam-to-grotesque meltdown that ends the festival with a glorious, gooey bang!

Struggling actress Samantha (Moss) is desperate for a comeback—and a miracle. Enter Shell, a glossy biotech beauty empire promising eternal youth, instant glow, and a brand-new lease on life. But behind the flawless façade is Zoe Shannon (Hudson), Shell’s seductive CEO and walking billboard for the company’s too-good-to-be-true science. What begins as a glam transformation spirals into a gooey, grotesque descent as Samantha starts to unravel Shell’s sinister secrets—complete with vanishing friends, mutating flesh, and biotech gone bonkers.

Directed with wicked style by Max Minghella, SHELL is a riotous thrill ride through the horrors of vanity, tech obsession, and the monstrous cost of perfection. Gloriously twisted, darkly funny, and totally unhinged—this is your new cosmetic nightmare.
