An incinerating and strangely dream-like teenage nightmare with shades of everything from Donnie Darko, Stand By Me, and Stranger Things. Set in the leafy American suburbs of the early 1990s – a time before the internet, cellphones, and social media – a group of best friends live in the mundane world of bike rides, after-school snacks, and video games. But in an instant, everything changes. An innocent lark in the park takes an abrupt and violent turn when an accident results in a gruesome death. With vivid imagination and surreal imagery, we see the darkening of innocence and adolescence as a once simple world turns into a twilight zone of nightmares and brutality.
