Popcorn Frights presents a mind-bending descent into madness with a special Shudder10 celebration screening of George A. Romero’s long-lost gem, THE AMUSEMENT PARK, for its 50th anniversary!

Recently unearthed and meticulously restored 46 years after its creation, this rarely seen fever dream from the legendary master of horror (NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD) is unlike anything you’ve experienced. Commissioned by the Lutheran Society and starring Martin’s Lincoln Maazel, THE AMUSEMENT PARK follows an elderly man’s surreal journey through a theme park where the horrors of aging—alienation, abuse, and neglect—are rendered with unflinching dread and hallucinatory style.

Part social allegory, part nightmare carousel ride, this is Romero at his most experimental and unrestrained—an astonishing early work that showcases the visionary’s razor-sharp commentary and bold cinematic imagination.
