The Cell

DATE: Friday, April 12
TIME: 10:30PM
VENUE: Coral Gables Art Cinema

Turn off your brain, let your guts take the lead, and swim in the hellacious, otherworldly mindscape featuring hypnotic imagery, nihilism, a cacophonous score by Howard Shore, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s teeth-clenching turn as a horrifying serial killer at our one-night-only super-rare 35mm presentation of Tarsem Singh’s THE CELL starring Jennifer Lopez — one of the wildest, weirdest visual feasts ever committed to film that makes David Fincher’s Seven look tame.

Joining us for this special event hosted in partnership with the Miami Film Festival is director Tarsem Singh himself, who will be in attendance to provide an extended intro to his horror masterpiece.

Whether she’s Jenny from the Block or J-Lo, a Fly Girl or Rom-Com queen, Jennifer Lopez is legendary. Now she enters the mind of a serial killer who methodically drowns his victims and performs bizarre rituals with their bodies. Through new technology, she can travel through the mind of the killer in a desperate attempt to save an innocent life, a young woman whom the maniac has kidnapped and imprisoned in an unknown torture chamber. Can she navigate the terrifying labyrinth of the killer’s mind and emerge with both her life and sanity intact?
