Hope is a dangerous thing… and at Popcorn Frights, it’s about to feel larger than life! Experience Frank Darabont’s timeless masterpiece THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, a story that takes us inside an altogether different kind of horror, like you’ve never seen it before: in a stunning new 4K restoration on the big screen, where every glance, every silence, and every spark of hope lands with seismic power. And joining us for this unforgettable night is special guest William Sadler, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the making of a film that became pure cinema legend.

Based on a Stephen King novella and nominated for seven Academy Awards, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION tells the extraordinary story of Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), a banker wrongfully convicted and sentenced to Shawshank State Prison. Inside its cold stone walls, he meets Ellis “Red” Redding (Morgan Freeman), a man who understands the rules of survival all too well—and has long since stopped believing in escape. What unspools are years of friendships, torture, sadness, joy, and ultimately redemption—all behind bars.

Get ready. Redemption hits different when it fills a theater.
