The Dark

In this brilliant blend of macabre storytelling, coming-of-age frankness, and shocking gore, a flesh-eating young girl haunts the woods where she was murdered: Nobody gets in, and nobody gets out alive. When she discovers an abused kid inside the trunk of a car after dismembering his guardian, her decision to let the boy live throws her existence into upheaval. She begins feeling compassion and the need to protect him, leading them down a path of dark secrets and friendship. The Dark is a strange, stunning, and terrifying tale about childhood friendship, trauma and first love that calls to mind the haunting work of Anne Rice and Let the Right One In.
